2024 Spring Country Festa
OBJECTIVE.
MSDA student from Indonesia gave a talk at the 2024 Spring Country Festa.
On July 2, Rayhan Maulana Ryzan, a first-year MSDA student, introduced his country at the Global Lounge of the Ikebukuro Campus in the 2024 Spring Country Festa hosted by the International Office. In his presentation, he showcased a slideshow featuring the rich nature and culture of Indonesia.
The audience listened attentively to his talk, which described how diverse the country is regarding geography, ethnicity, cultures, languages, and natural environment. One inquisitive participant asked whether conflicts still occur between people in different areas due to diversity. Rayhan replied, ''Yes, there can be conflict and discrimination between people in Indonesia. However, since Unity in Diversity became the country's motto, everyone in Indonesia has embraced the idea that their diversity is a strength.''
Another keen listener, a senior student in the College of Tourism, commented after the Festa, "I've rushed from Niiza Campus solely for this event today. I am taking an introductory Indonesian language class, and my interest in their culture is growing deeper. Now that I learned from Rayhan's talk that the country embraces many different ethnic groups and languages, I really feel like visiting that beautiful place in the near future."
Thank you, Rayhan, for providing us with an invaluable opportunity to learn about Indonesia and increasing our motivation to learn more.
