Fall 2025 Country Festa
OBJECTIVE.
The Global Lounge held a Country Festa on Ikebukuro campus. In this semi-annual event, international students from four countries, namely China, Indonesia, Ukraine, and UK (Wales), set up booths on December 1, and gave presentations/performances on December 5. From MSDA, eight Indonesian students and one Ukrainian student participated in this event to introduce their countries.

To arrange this event with other Indonesian students, it is not difficult since our connection is really close, we know each other, and we have already held events together many times. As the leader, I am happy to have such a healthy environment. The reaction from other students was very positive; they seemed to like it, and many people tried our candy as well as our traditional clothing and music instruments.

Saidi, Conductor of Angklung ensemble
Angklung is a bamboo-made music instrument from West Java. Each player only holds one or two specific notes, meaning success depends entirely on teamwork and listening closely to the whole group. The most rewarding part was seeing the enthusiasm of the people when they joined in and played the Angklung with us. This moment truly demonstrated how music can immediately connect people from different backgrounds.

I presented, together with another Ukrainian student, a poster and had the opportunity to tell students and visitors about Ukraine on the first day. On the second day, we talked about Ukrainian winter customs, and I sang and danced with a traditional music. I hope that the students enjoyed learning something new about Ukraine. We would like to thank the International Office and everyone who helped us share a piece of our country here, more than 8,000 kilometers away from home.
